I am pleased to announce that TPI is about to embark on a search for a new Managing Partner.
In January, we were thrilled to announce our merger with the Boston Foundation, a partnership that presented many opportunities for TPI and for myself. Prior to the merger, I was interested in moving out of management to spend more time pursuing a principle that TPI often encourages clients to practice – passion. I get the most joy from working with our clients and developing strategic initiatives – both of which I have had less time to participate in while occupying the corner office.
However, I agreed to lead TPI for at least the first six months after the merger to ensure a smooth transition and give us time to refine our leadership needs going forward. I am pleased to report that the merger has exceeded our expectations and all of us at TPI are very enthusiastic about the possibilities that lie ahead. We think that the merger, which is pioneering a new model in philanthropy advising, combined with all the significant changes and growth in the philanthropic sphere, makes this position an exciting opportunity.
I have thoroughly enjoyed leading TPI over the past five years and look forward to working more with our clients and contributing to the field in new and different ways in my role as a Senior Partner. The search will officially launch in June and I intend to remain Managing Partner until my successor is appointed.
Your help in spreading the word and encouraging extraordinary people to apply would be most appreciated! As always, please feel free to reach out to me or anyone at TPI with questions.
