Strategic Advisory: FOUNDATIONS, FAMILIES, INDIVIDUALS
The Center for Applied Philanthropy (CAP) is working with foundations, families, and individuals to help them understand, structure, and implement Program Related Investment (PRI) strategies that are aligned with their mission.
Foundations and donors today are confronting the dual challenges of decreased philanthropic assets at a time of sharply increasing client and societal needs. Increasingly, foundations and donors are seeking to understand how best to utilize ‘nontraditional’ capital - in the form of lines of credit, zero-to-low interest loans, loan guarantees, and other forms of “program related investments” (PRIs) to provide critical resources to the nonprofits organizations they support. These types of PRIs and other ‘nontraditional’ funding can supply an important source of critically needed capital to nonprofits – thus it is increasingly urgent for foundations, families and individual donors to better understand WHERE PRI strategies could work best for them, HOW they can structure and implement these investments, and HOW they can develop the relevant capacity to manage and implement PRIs going forward, and how best they can incorporate PRIs and other mission investments into their grant making strategies.
CAP helps foundations, families and individual donors to identify required resources, build capacity and transfer knowledge on each engagement. From evaluation to placement, CAP is focused on expanding the use and adoption of PRI and other mission investments. Specifically, our services include:
- Evaluation and Portfolio Review
