Our Mission
Creating a New Paradigm in Philanthropy
CAP’s mission is to help philanthropic organizations move from conversation to implementation of loans and other Program Related Investment (PRI) strategies. We are working to catalyze the increased use and adoption of PRIs and other mission investment options among foundations, families, individuals, and philanthropic organizations to help leverage traditional funding streams and help create a new paradigm in philanthropy
Today's economic crisis has left no one unscathed, and sadly that is particularly true for those who are most in need. As foundations face significantly reduced assets available to meet increasing needs, nonprofit organizations face even greater demand for their services at a time of declining funds. This crisis requires grant makers to use every current dollar available to them to help meet these very real needs
Given these extreme financial challenges, there is a critical need for significant and real changes in the way nonprofit organizations use philanthropic dollars and the way foundations and individuals deliver these dollars. Without that kind of action, there will continue to be a shortage of philanthropic capital available to serve our ever-increasing set of needs.
