Abstract
The re-engineering of companies has had an impact on the focus of contributions and community involvement programs. Corporate leadership increasingly requires that the effects of philanthropic and community involvement add value to the bottom line. The emphasis is on an investment strategy that provides a measurable return to help meet business goals and corporate interests, as well as demonstrate a positive impact on critical and relevant community needs and social issues. Thus, corporate leaders are demanding increased accountability from those community and charitable organizations receiving philanthropic support.
