Abstract
Philanthropy is only one player among many in the ongoing effort to shape our communities and our world. And as much as donors can accomplish on their own, we cannot ignore the critical role government plays in almost any issue we embrace. Whether it’s school reform, the environment, human services, or community development - what government does or does not do is a huge factor in the equation of what can be done to address critical social issues.
