This March, join TPI at a special event in New Orleans, nearly five years after Hurricane Katrina. With the Gulf Coast as our classroom, hundreds of donors and foundation staff from across the country, representing more than 30 partner organizations, will gather to explore philanthropy’s role in community response, rebuilding, and transformation after disaster.

We can’t prevent disasters, whether record storms or unprecedented unemployment, but we can change what happens before, during, and after. There are lessons for each of us in the transformation of the Gulf Coast.

Pleas join us in New Orleans to hear TPI’s Lisa Spalding speak on philanthropic leadership and to take home lessons to the communities we care about, and be sure to tell others about this rare opportunity.

What: Katrina @ 5: Partners in Philanthropy
When:  March 22–24, 2010
Where: New Orleans, LA

Early-bird rates may still be available – email Lisa Spalding to find out how.

As we work to tackle tough issues and transform communities:

  • Learn how to mobilize and support immediate response to disaster, whether natural or economic
  • Tap into critical conversations brought to the forefront in the Gulf and relevant everywhere – on housing and homelessness, workforce development, education, community involvement, and more
  • Explore ways to rebuild communities through public-private partnerships, program related investments, community organizing, and more
  • Be inspired to transform communities through measured risk taking and long-term capital
