TPI Senior Fellow, Stephen Johnson will present on September 17th in Singapore at the Charities Aid Foundation’s (CAF) Philanthropy Symposium 2010: The Power of Doing Good Well.
The two-day symposium, organized in collaboration with The National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC), The Community Foundation of Singapore (TCFS), The Centre for Asian Philanthropy (CAP) and Family Business Network (FBN), will consist of about 50 wealth managers and advisors from across Asia who wish to learn more about connecting their work with high net worth clients to philanthropic planning.
The first day, September 16th, will be devoted to donor advisors and will focus on the power to spur giving and how to make philanthropy successful through wealth planning and choosing the right mechanisms. The second day, September 17th, will focus on the power of changing philanthropy and will supply participants with a unique behind-the-scenes view of local issues and insight into innovative best practices and strategies from around the world.
The symposium aims to:
- Develop a culture of informed giving in the community through the sharing of knowledge, experiences, and best practices amongst industry experts and givers.
- Provide clarity and shed new light on current giving trends so as to inspire and motivate potential givers to contribute.
- Create a cross-border, cross-sector dialogue and cooperation for the advancement of strategic philanthropy.
- Heighten the awareness of donors as givers and of the resources available for them to grow their capacity.
Attendance at Philanthropy Symposium 2010: The Power of Doing Good Well is by invitation only.
