Each week, NECN's CEO Corner goes one on one with New England's top business leaders to learn the secrets to their success.  This week host Maryanne Kane talks with TPI CEO Ellen Remmer about the state of philanthropy and the future of The Philanthropic Initiative.

Part I
In this segment, Remmer talks about the growth of charitable organizations and the importance of oversight. She has some advice for donors. And in this time of financial difficulty she says that collaboration among foundations is the silver lining.

Part II
In this segment, Remmer talks about the state of giving in the recession. From helping large corporations come up with a philanthropy plan, to helping small foundations and families work to become change agents in specific areas, Remmer talks about trends in giving. We also look at the impact of the Madoff scandal and diaspora giving, where an individual gives back to his or her country of origin.

Part III
In this segment, Remmer talks about the future of The Philanthropic Initiative.
