Philanthropy and Community Action: Moral Dimensions

Announcing a new course designed for community members in Santa Barbara

September 21 - November 9, 2009 - CEUs available

This course is designed for professionals working in, or dedicated to, the government, non-profit, and business sectors. Participants will develop greater understanding about the connections between philanthropy and community action. In addition, participants will build critical skills about the “new normal” in philanthropy and its implications for their work.

Orchestrated by TPI's founder, Peter Karoff, and Katrina Rogers, the Associate Dean for the Doctoral Program and Director for the Institute for Social Innovation at Fielding Graduate University, it will involve four evening meetings, along with online discussion forums, to explore how today's trends in society have impacted the field of philanthropy. The course will also focus on the moral dimension of philanthropy and the inner journey that goes along with philanthropic giving.
