Welcome - Alexis Breiteneicher
Hello, and welcome, I’m Joe’s eldest daughter, Alexis, and I would like to thank you all so very much for coming this evening. It would have meant so much to Joe and I know that I can speak for my whole family by saying that this is just incredible and wonderful, so, thank you.
I have a little story to share:
When I was probably in first or second grade I was a really bad speller and I actually continue to be a bad speller and I used to try to write papers while he was doing work, and I used to ask him how to spell words and I’d be like “so Dad, how do you spell this word and he’d say: “look it up” and I’d say: “but I don’t know how to spell it, how am I going to look it up?” and he’d look at me and say: “That’s the point!”
And at that age it was incredibly annoying but looking back on it, Joe wanted you to not take the easy road and he wanted me to continue learning and I think that’s a gift he’s given to everybody is that there's no easy road and always try to learn something new and to think about what you’re doing.
So that’s my brief thank you and thank you all so much for coming.
