event: Advising Benefactors: Giving Well, Doing Good
Start Date: January 18, 2008
On January 18, The Hudson Institute's Bradley Center for Philanthropy and Civic Renewal hosted a panel discussion on the new book, Advising Benefactors: Giving Well, Doing Good by Hudson Institute Senior Fellow Amy Kass. TPI President Ellen Remmer was a panelist, along with other philanthropic advisors.
Organized thematically into six chapters, the book uses excerpts from a variety of old and new texts, seeking to illuminate fundamental questions about the idea and practice of philanthropy, to promote more thoughtful discussion about practical issues facing the philanthropic sector, and to point a way toward a philanthropic practice that is more responsible, more effective, and more civic-spirited.
