Enhancing Math and Science Skills for Youth
 Could $50,000 in philanthropic support, divided into small grants of $3,000, possibly make a dent in improving math and science education in Boston's public schools?
That was the starting point for this individual donor's "Middle-level Math, Science, and Technology Grants Program," known as Middle MaST. Designed by TPI, this competitive grants program provides flexible funds to teams of middle school teachers to support innovative hands-on curriculum projects. As just one element of this founder's philanthropy, Middle MaST has played a significant role in several middle schools, gained national recognition, and has leveraged other types of support. Recently, One Middle MaSt project was recognized by a national foundation as one of 20 innovative math / science initiatives taking place around the country.
