Leslie Pine
Leslie Pine, Senior Vice President for Program, has been the principal architect of TPI's creative approach to program design and strategy, managing TPI's program staff in the research, design, implementation, and evaluation of a wide range of innovative programs. Her work, in concert with her staff, has transformed the concept of strategic philanthropy into high-impact philanthropic action, helping funders develop new and more effective approaches to the issues that concern them.
Leslie also oversees TPI's ongoing assistance to a number of foundations and corporations. She has designed a range of philanthropic strategies including various youth development and mentoring initiatives; grants initiatives to stimulate innovation by teachers and K-12 schools; corporate models to promote employee giving and volunteering, including a philanthropic advisory service for AOL Time Warner employees; and initiatives designed to leverage grassroots community improvement efforts. Current client interests include reducing prejudice and fostering understanding, literacy, arts and creativity, community health, economic and community development, and civic engagement.
Leslie participated in founding TPI in 1989 after a decade of policy research and analysis in the academic and governmental sectors. Prior to joining TPI, Leslie was the Senior Health Analyst for the Massachusetts Executive Office of Administration & Finance, responsible for assessing the state's most critical health priorities, and developing effective strategies and resources for meeting those needs. She is a graduate of St. Lawrence University, and received a Masters of Science degree in Health Policy and Management from the Harvard School of Public Health.
