Jim Coutré

Jim Coutré, a Partner at TPI, advises clients and leads TPI's communications efforts, drawing upon a seventeen year career in strategy development and communications.  Jim works to develop special initiatives which respond to the evolving needs of clients and colleagues and broaden the understanding of strategic philanthropy and its emerging trends.  In his work with clients, Jim is often a resource for building stronger, deeper connections with internal and external constituent groups as well as connecting a client’s philanthropy to their institutional branding efforts. Jim currently sits on the steering committee of New England International Donors.

Prior to TPI, Jim spent much of the past decade on the for-profit side as Director of Brand Strategy at a thought-leading brand strategy consultancy based in Boston. While he created and implemented branding and marketing programs for many financial services and technology firms, Jim was most excited by, and known for, his work with category-leading non-profits. Working nationally in areas including conservation, education, healthcare and the arts, Jim’s efforts were recently recognized through three international Rebrand100 awards.  Jim received a Bachelors of Art in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis with a minor in Fine Arts.
