Chuck Slosser
Chuck Slosser, Senior Fellow, is President Emeritus of the Santa Barbara Foundation, a foundation he led for 18 years as President and CEO. The Foundation’s assets are approximately $300,000,000 and it has awarded more than $180,000,000 in agency grants and student loans since its inception in 1928. While at the Foundation, Chuck’s accomplishments include the establishment of The Foundation Roundtable (a regional association of grantmakers), the annual Partnership for Excellence Conference for the donor and nonprofit community, and the groundbreaking Care and Share program that gives third-grade children a hands-on volunteer and/or grantmaking experience.
Prior, Chuck served as Director of Development at the Museum of Natural History and Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at the University of California Santa Barbara. Chuck holds a Ph.D. from UCLA and a M.A. and B.A. from Valparaiso University. He is a member of the Planned Giving Roundtable, The Foundation Roundtable, the City of Santa Barbara’s Taskforce on Gang Violence, and the Investment Committee of the Visiting Nurse Association. He is also a board member of both the Hutton Foundation and the Orfalea Fund
