Pierre Noel now directs the Haiti Development Institute after leading the Haiti Fund, a five-year initiative created in the immediate aftermath of the devastating 2010 earthquake to provide support to those affected in Haiti as well as in the Greater Boston area.
Pierre works with grantees, community leaders, public officials, individual philanthropists, and funders both in the U.S. and in Haiti. He believes in the importance of building multi-faceted relationships to support grantmaking, advocacy and fundraising.
Prior to the Haiti Fund, Pierre worked in development in his home country of Haiti. He led an international organization there doing community development work in education, agricultural development and youth empowerment in rural communities and helped create and manage small and medium enterprises.
Pierre holds a law degree from the University of the District of Columbia School of Law, and is a graduate of Boston University and the Monterrey School of International Studies.
